We all know the challenges met by cava in the current market conditions, stuck between prosecco and champagne as if price was the only thing which would differentiate sparkling wines.
It is a great shame as it can be such a fantastic wine in its own right.
Ehrmanns has been Juve Y Camps' agent for about a year now, building up business gradually, hand selling this prestigious brand and growing its already big fan base. The family owned business run a tight operation where every step of the production process is carefully monitored to ensure the best quality. Unlike most of other mid sized, smaller cava houses, Juve Y Camps owns its vineyards and does not need to outsource grapes, a great point of difference against its competitors.
My personal favorite is the 0 residual sugar Reserva de la Familia Gran Reserva - a fantastic elegant premium cava which offers great white peach and apple aromas underlined with toasty flavour - a pure delight. We were really chuffed when it was listed by Harrods earlier on this year and are hoping that is just the start of a succesful foray on the UK market.
With its good looks and great taste -Reserva de la Familia would be right at home in Plan B's hands - maybe that is what cava needs - an edgy ambassador which would put it right where it deserves to be ; in dark, sexy clubs - drunk by a bunch of hipsters...
